One of the unfortunate consequences of the COVID-19 crisis is that it meant artists having to cancel shows. As a regular concert goer, this was of particulalr annoyance to me. But it got me thinking about the economic aspect of the decision. How much money was invloved in music tours? Well thankfully Statistica have data on the gross revenue generated from music tours.

The above graph shows the value of the highest grossing music tours from 2019 in millions of US dollars. I must say I am surprised to see P!nk in the top spot. Unsurprisingly enough there is a fair number of old artists. Elton John, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney to name a few.
